Singles, Widowed, And Needy.

Did you know that throughout the ages, swans have been respected for their elegant grace and gentle beauty. But things are very different just below the surface, for fueling the swan’s elegant glide is a high-energy paddling which makes them hard workers. When things get overwhelming, they will take off and find a tranquil, gentle place to recharge before returning. This depicts the Missionaries of the Allegheny Diocese of Pennsylvania: Elegant, Graceful and Gentle beauty, but working diligently serving the needs of the souls they come in contact with for Christ.

The Lord has led Missionary President Linda Grinage to focus on a women’s outreach ministry entitled “SWAN Ministries” (Singles, Widowed, And Needy). Each church was charged to survey the women in their congregation and community to determine the most pressing needs, then develop and implement programs and services to meet these needs. They are to report back at the State Convocation on the results of their efforts. The church that was most successful in meeting the needs of one or more of the identified issues and meeting the additional award criteria would receive a SWAN trophy to display in their church.

Our mission is to empower and uplift women in our state by providing them with resources, support, and advocacy to reach their full potential. We strive to create a safe and inclusive environment where women of all backgrounds and experiences can come together, grow, and make a positive impact on their communities. By promoting equality, addressing barriers, and fostering a sense of belonging, we aim to advance the well-being and success of women and those in need in our state.

Empowerment

Focus on empowering the singles, widows, and needy individuals we serve by providing not just immediate relief but also long-term solutions. The Allegheny Diocese S.W.A.N. Ministries embodies our theme of “Focusing on the Mission” by addressing the root causes of these issues both locally and globally.
